IP Strategies and Route for Enterprises Under the B&R Initiative

In the autumn of 2013, President Xi in Kazakhstan and Indonesia came up with the idea to jointly build the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road, that is the Belt and Road Initiative.
 
On March 28, 2015, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China jointly released the Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.
 
On July 21, 2016, High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property for Countries along the Belt and Road with the theme of "Inclusiveness, Development, Cooperation, Mutual Benefit" was held in Beijing.
 
From May 14-15, 2017, the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation smoothly held in Beijing. During the Leaders Roundtable, leaders from 30 countries and heads of the United Nations, the World Bank, International Monetary Fund exchanged their ideas and achieved a common sense in the development strategy docking, interconnection promotion, cultural and educational communications and other themes, and finally passed the Joint Communique. Since the first mention of the Belt and Road Initiative, China has quickened its steps to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Intellectual Property Cooperation with Nepal, Switzerland, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Cambodia and other countries along the Belt and Road, and developed communications and cooperation with more countries and regions.
 
As one of the authoritative media in China's IP industry, China IP Magazine will spare no efforts to take responsibilities in providing better services to connect the global IP industry. To fulfill our duty, we planned a special Belt and Road issue, in which we invited professionals to introduce IP challenges and coping strategies that Chinese enterprises facing with in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative and invited China's brillian enterprise - CRRC to offer us experiences of applying IP for globalization. What's more, we also offer you the information of IP service agencies in countries and regions along the Belt and Road based on the book with the same title jointly published by the State Intellectual Property Office and China IP Magazine, in expectation of providing more guidelines for enterprises and agencies when Chinese entities do business overseas and when foreign entities do business in China. Finally, with the messages from international IPers for the Belt and Road Initiative, we hope that the IP industry in the whole world can have a better development with our efforts!
