Nestle Sues the Manufacturer of Dumex Baby Milk Powder for Trademark Infringement

Issue 21,[Trademark]

On the morning of Nov. 14, 2007, the case filed by Nestle against the International Nutrition Company, the manufacturer of Dumex baby milk powder, for trademark infringement and unfair competition was heard in an open session in Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court. Since it was unclear how much the defendant's actual profit was, Nestle's attorney requested the court to decide within its jurisdiction on damages of no more than RMB 500,000 prescribed by law. The judgment was not announced in court.
