On Nov. 29-30, the 3rd China Integrated Circuit and Software Intellectual Property Summit of IP China 2007 and the 4th China Information Industry Intellectual Property and Technology Standard Summit Forum were held in Beijing.

The Summits focused on the issues of IP information and standards in the area of IT, discussed such aspects as the creation, operation, protection and application concerning IP in the area of IT from different angles, and established a platform of communication for the rapid and sound development of the information industry.

IP China 2007 opened the prelude of the Summit with the first day’s theme being training. The hosts invited experienced IP experts from home and abroad who mainly briefed the audience of the IP legal systems in Europe and America, practices in IP management, financing of IPR for enterprises, the handling of IP disputes, and so on. The focus of the second day’s theme session was on the most representative technology field. The participants conducted an in-depth discussion about such contents as the evaluation, transaction and standard of IP, revealed domestic and foreign patent transaction cases, analyzed the IP strategies of the standard working team and shared advanced concepts in IP work.

The Summits were jointly sponsored by China Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion Center (CSIP) under the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), the Electronics Intellectual Property Rights Consulting and Service Centre (EIPRC) under the MII, Standardization Development Research Center of China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), and China Electronics Standardization Association (CESA). More than 300 participants attended the Summits, including leaders, experts and representatives from the government, industry, domestic and foreign IP providers and well-known law firms. The representatives from many law firms and famous IT manufacturers like Microsoft delivered keynote speeches.
