On November 1-3, 2018, the FICPI-Japan Osaka Symposium was held by the Japanese Association of International Federation of Industrial Property Attorneys (FICPI-JAPAN) in Osaka, Japan. At the Symposium, experts and professionals in the field of intellectual property from various countries gathered and discussed a variety of topics on intellectual property. From the Japan Patent Office (JPO), Masanori Katsura, Director-General of the Patent Examination Department (Mechanical Technology), attended the Symposium and made opening remarks. Also, at the Session I of the Symposium, where IP offices and the WIPO introduced their initiatives, he delivered a speech about the JPO’s efforts on 4th Industrial Revolution.
