CNIPA appoints technical investigators for administrative protection on IPR

In June, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) appointed 35 technical investigators for administrative protection on IPR in line with the requirements of the Interim Regulations on Investigation into Infringement Cases on Patents and Integrated Circuits Designs for Administrative Arbitration. Based on the recommendations from the relevant departments of the Patent Office, the CNIPA identified the 35 technical investigators. They come from various technical fields, such as machinery, electricity, communication, pharmaceuticals and biology, chemistry, optoelectronics, materials, and designs.

Following the appointment, the technical investigators will receive relevant training sessions organized by the CNIPA and be designated to participate in the administrative arbitration process for IPR infringement cases involving patent and integrated circuit designs.

The CNIPA also issued the "Notice on Carrying out the National Patent Investigation Work in 2021". It sets the patent in force as the critical observing object. In 2021, the respondents of the national patent survey involving patent holders with patents in force and related patent information of 25 provinces in China.
